This is The Toolkit , When success is more than profit and loss.
After much reflection, I've come to one simple conclusion...a good life is not about all the accolades we absorb in our individual journeys. Nor is it about the specific learnings we miraculously pick up in school or through social interactions. Ironically, it's also not about what our parents, friends, teachers and society as a whole teach us. After many years, I've come close to a truth that should possibly resonate with each of you. Does life itself give us each the ability to control our emotions, dive deep into the abyss of our own actions and choose our own paths; or are we predetermined to live an unpredictable existence based upon our own individual choices? If you're ready to take a deep dive into the mind of one successful entrepreneur, you'll first need to accept a few simple truths.
Much like you, I continue to watch and learn from each of the social posts, books, articles, professional conferences, podcasts, movies, mentors and both personal and professional communities I am engaged within. That said, I'm sure you – like me - have noticed a common thread... ready to learn why I think Old Saint Nick is the greatest entrepreneur? If you are still reading this post, I'm almost positive you are!
🚩 Like Santa, entrepreneurs are blinded by their own belief systems. They simply act on a will to succeed. Perhaps a little crazy, entrepreneurs like Santa approach work with clear obsession and determination.
🚩 Something tells me that if you manage to find and surround yourself around devoted people, who are in it (your success is their success) for all the right reasons rather than just self interest, you might (like Santa) have the right ingredients to become a leader who inspires and creates sustainable growth.
🚩 Santa's business frameworks are sprinkled with magic, are yours? If we all have the same 24 hours in a day but only a certain cohort of us truly find happiness in our accomplishments, are we forever blinded by a search for better tools? Business is not magic, your ability to pick which frameworks a.k.a. solutions will position you for success takes patience and the humility to fail. I think it took Santa centuries of trial and errors to build the toys of the future.
🚩 As it turns out, Santa has Rudolph and a small but steady crew of elves who help him each year. From Santa, I've learned the importance of community, obsession for truth and the determination for getting shit done no matter the cost. What's yours?
Simply, having a blind faith and the will to find peace in the work we choose (or does it choose us) comes down to the choices we make.
The tricky part, for all of us pursuing some level of professional success, comes down to self-awareness, adapting to our environments and trusting in our own abilities to find the truth behind our individual journeys.
I want to continue to believe in Santa! Just ask my kids, as he most certainly is the best entrepreneur in the world! And like Santa, I'm learning to sprinkle my own magic dust into everything I do.
Happy Holidays,
Vic
